Rosyth CCA Leadership Camp 14 & 15 Sep 2007

Rosyth CCA Leaders spent 2 days at the Outward Bound Singapore (East Coast Campus). I was impressed with the trainers' dedication and commitment. Click here for more photographs taken at the camp.
How will the CCA Leaders practise what they have learnt at the camp? Well, look out for the post-exam activities where the CCA Leaders will plan and organise a game for their peers. Yes, I will help them in the process, and work only starts after their SA2 exams. So, CCA Leaders, study hard and we'll meet again after your exams!

Snow City 3 September 2007

Pupils from P4 Youthful, P5 Victorious and P5 Resilient had a great time playing in the 'snow' in sunny Singapore. Click here for more pictures.
They also learnt to make ice-cream. Here's the programme outline.

The programme opens with a brief history of ice cream. The different ingredients used in making ice cream are then presented to students. Different techniques in making ice cream will be discussed, with emphasis on the use of liquid nitrogen. Students will be asked to form small groups, and together they will prepare their group’s ice cream using liquid nitrogen. On top of that, students will get the chance to savour the ice cream that they have prepared. The experience is expected to be memorable for the students. They get to learn science concepts such as transmission of heat energy by conduction, effects of heat exchange, and thermal properties of matter. The multi-sensory experience provided by this programme helps to cement the students’ understanding of various science concepts further.

I hear and I forget. I see and I understand. I experience and I remember.

Rosyth pupils visited Snow City in 2006.
